Band practice is held every Tuesday night from 7-9pm at The Commodore Barry Club in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Emerald Society Pipe Band is a great place to come celebrate and represent the Irish side of the pipe band community. We have a place for pipers and drummers of all skill levels who want to be a part of what we do, whether it's just playing in parades and other functions, or taking the extra steps to commit to the hard (yet rewarding!) work of the competition band.
The band will teach new and prospective members the art of playing the Great Highland Bagpipe. However, at this time we are only able to accept new students who can read music or have some type of musical or drumming background. If you are interested in learning more, or would just like to join us for a practice to see what’s going on, please contact Band President Joe Tobin at 215-990-0457 or Pipe Major John Collins 484-557-5069.
We have a lot of fun together as a group! There are many long-term members of the band, as well as those who have "made the circuit" and found a home with us. Emerald has just the right balance!
